FANS Honours North Shore Artist Douglas Coupland

Canadian novelist, visual artist and designer Douglas Coupland will accept the 2012 Distinguished Artist Award at this year's FANS Annual Tribute to the Arts event on Thursday October 25th at the beautiful new Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art in North Vancouver.
FANS, the Fund for the Arts on the North Shore Society, hosts this event every year to honour outstanding north shore residents who are nationally and internationally recognized artists in their chosen discipline(s). This year, the FANS Board invites the community to join them in celebrating West Vancouver native Douglas Coupland for his exceptional contributions to the literary, visual and media arts.
Local artists also honoured at this year's FANS Tribute to the Arts are musician Adam Woodall and visual artist Anne Gudrun. These two emerging artists will receive cash awards to assist them with their blossoming careers.
It will be an evening to remember! Surrounded by great works of art in the new Gordon Smith Gallery space, guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, and listen to live local entertainment. A wonderful array of 'creative and consumable' Silent Auction items will be on view and open to bids with all proceeds going to benefit FANS' artist recognition and professional development programs.
